Contracts
Government contract opportunities
Selling to the government is a different process than applying for a grant. Here is what is open now and what the paperwork actually asks for.
GrantsRUs lists open federal contract opportunities with the posting details, response date, set aside information, and a link to the official solicitation. Searching is free. The Pro workspace helps you turn a solicitation into a proposal draft built from your own past work.
See open contract opportunitiesGrant money and contract money are not the same
A grant funds something the funder wants to see happen in the world. A contract buys something the government needs, and you are being hired to deliver it.
That changes what wins. A contract response is judged on whether you can clearly do the work, on time, at a fair price, with proof from jobs you have already finished.
Who this helps
- Service businesses such as construction, cleaning, staffing, IT, and consulting
- Product suppliers and equipment dealers
- Small, veteran owned, women owned, and disadvantaged businesses looking for set aside work
- Businesses that have registered to sell to the government but never responded to a posting
What you receive
- Open postings with response dates and the issuing office
- Set aside and classification details when the posting includes them
- A direct link to the official solicitation
- Pro tools that list every requirement in the solicitation and help you answer each one
- A past performance section built from work you have actually done
How it works
- Search by what you need, where you are, and how much time is left before the deadline.
- Open a listing and read the full details, including who can apply and what the money is for.
- Save the ones worth your time so you can come back to them.
- Start a draft in the workspace. We ask you short questions and build your answers from what you tell us.
- Download your draft, then apply on the official page run by the organization offering the opportunity.
What it costs
Searching is free. You can open any listing, read who can apply, see the deadline, and go to the official page without paying anything.
GRANTSRUS Pro is $29.99 a month or $250 a year. Pro adds the private workspace where you build your application: the question list pulled from the opportunity file, plain language explanations, draft answers built from your own answers, a practice version of the full application, and Word or PDF downloads.
Common questions
- Do I need to be registered to bid?
- Federal contracting normally requires an active registration with a unique entity ID before an award. Each posting tells you what it requires, so read that section first.
- Can a brand new business win a contract?
- It is harder, because most postings ask about similar work you have finished. Smaller postings and subcontracting are usually the realistic first step.
- Do you submit the bid for me?
- No. You submit on the official solicitation page. We help you prepare the response.
