Resume before and after
The same experience, written two ways. The second version is not fancier. It just answers the questions a hiring manager was already asking.

Before and after
Warehouse coordinator
Before: Responsible for scheduling and ordering supplies.
After: Built the weekly schedule for 14 employees across two shifts and managed orders from 9 suppliers, cutting late deliveries from about 4 a month to 1.
It names how many people, how many suppliers, and what got better.
Office administrator
Before: Handled office paperwork and helped customers.
After: Processed about 120 customer files a month and answered 40 to 60 calls a day, keeping the filing backlog under one day for two years.
Volume and consistency are the parts an employer cannot guess.
Nonprofit program staff
Before: Ran the after school program.
After: Ran an after school program serving 60 students across 3 schools, hired and trained 5 part time staff, and reported attendance to the funder every month.
It shows the size of the work and that reporting was part of the job.
First job, no formal experience
Before: Volunteered at a community center.
After: Volunteered 6 hours a week for 14 months at a community center, setting up a sign in system that cut check in time roughly in half.
Volunteer work counts when you describe the commitment and the result.
What changed in every example
- A duty became a result
- A number replaced a vague word like several or many
- The sentence stayed short and plain
- Nothing was added that the person had not already said
How to do this with your own lines
- Ask yourself how many, how often, and for how long.
- Ask what would have gone wrong if you had not done it.
- Ask whether anything measurable got better.
- If you cannot answer, leave the claim out.
